Equinor signs key pacts for major CCS project

Equinor, in cooperation with its partners Shell and Total, is studying the possibilities for developing a CO₂ storage on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS).Final binding commercial agreements will depend on positive investment decisions for the Northern Lights project, the Norwegian State’s full-scale carbon capture and storage project and for third-party projects.

The responses came to a call for information and nominations for leasing up to three sites on the outer continental shelf. In total the sites include 85 outer continental shelf blocks and 573 partial blocks covering approximately 1726 square kilometres.
