Watch: EV’s ‘illuminating’ Tracking Transition event

Check out this cool snippet of video footage from Energy Voice’s incredibly successful Tracking Transition panel debate. Alex Kemp, professor of petroleum economics at Aberdeen University, Shane Taylor, research and policy manager at Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, and Erikka Askeland, director of communications firm Mediacraft, gave their thoughts at the conclusion of the event.
Around 300 people attended the show at the International School Aberdeen (ISA) on August 29. They watched an insightful presentation by Iain Gallow, senior project manager at Calash, on the challenges oil and gas companies face to fit into a net-zero emissions future. Attendees were wowed by Aman Narain, a student at ISA who presented and shared her views on the challenges and concerns young people have to deal with when considering a career in the energy industry.

About 16% of our total energy comes from a renewable source.

The panel was chaired by Mike Tholen, upstream policy director at Oil and Gas UK, and featured Gardiner Hill, vice president of carbon management at BP, Gunther Newcombe, operations director at the Oil and Gas Authority, Neil Smith, head of dispute resolution at Burness Paull, and Paul de Leeuw, director of the Energy Transition Institute at Robert Gordon University. Law firm Burness Paull was Energy Voice’s partner for the event, whose supporters included ISA, Granite PR, AVC Immedia and Centrifuges Unlimited.
